Memory 2: resistance planning

ii. Conspiracy )

MEMORY NOTES:

* Xian is substantially younger in this memory, and has almost none of his powers. He's clearly a sorcerer but doesn't have his Exaltation yet.
* His name is blanked out with static in the places it would otherwise appear.

Rough appearance notes, etc

Appearance

5'4" with big 6'3" energy. PB is Kim Woo Bin. Eyes have an opalescent shimmer of color that's a little bit hypnotic due to one of his control spells. Occasionally has an eight-rayed sun in white on his forehead, and an aura of white flame if he's really working at something. Open flames near him tend to twist into friendly tentacles. Unusually quick and graceful, not unusually strong or resilient. Otherwise looks like his extremely pretty icons.

It always sounds weirdly like he's speaking another language even though his meaning translates perfectly. His voice can clearly be heard no matter else is going on.

Sensing

He's human, but been imbued with the power of the Titans who created the universe from unformed chaos, before they were broken and twisted by defeat; his magical pings are demon-adjacent, but not exactly demonic (and he definitely pings like he's a high-level one). Almost always has a couple of his Charms running although he's not exactly subtle about showing them off, so people who can sense magic can easily see that too. The power feels inhuman but naturally his, even though he's human for most intents and purposes.

He has magesight with analytical capability, so he can generally tell what people are and what they're doing magically. He also has a trick (that he has to turn on and has a visual tell) that lets him see whether people are particularly skilled and if so, what the skills and powers they most pride themselves on are; it won't tell him everything, but it'll give him a sense of what people are best at.

His mental defenses are pretty strong but not invincible; in general what you see is what you get in terms of thoughts and emotions. Go ahead and try, but it's likely he'll object firmly.

General Notes

I'm mentally running most of his mechanics as if they were 3E, except for how he's definitely a Gunstar Infernal with 2E-style Primordial Charms. That means he has 3E sorcery and anima banner and his Charms are generally updated (mostly to deal with mechanics that didn't survive the edition transfer, like Intimacies, or got stuck with reset conditions like perfect defenses).

The actual setting of pre-Cataclysm Creation never actually gets described in even vaguely specific terms, so I am absolutely making up everything about his backstory that doesn't interact with a Celestial Exalt. It will probably be deeply reminiscent of who I am as a person.
